First Ronald McDonald House opens on West Pine Boulevard
Since 1981 and the purchase of our first House on West Pine, Ronald McDonald House St. Louis has done all that we can to keep families near to their children during the most challenging seasons of their lives. Over that time we’ve grown, expanded, retired houses and opened the doors of new ones. We’ve provided comfortable beds to many thousands of families. Our compassionate volunteers and staff have tirelessly cooked meals, fluffed pillows and taken out the trash. And our passionate donors have given generously because they wholeheartedly believe in our mission.
At Ronald McDonald House St. Louis, our mission is: to provide a home-away-from-home to families of seriously ill children.
With every bed we make, meal we prepare and fridge we restock, we help ensure that a child facing a severe medical crisis has their parents nearby, physically and emotionally. Grounded in a culture of acceptance, hospitality, integrity and accountability, we open our doors with unconditional compassion. By providing resources and service, we ease transportation, meal and lodging burdens to give exhausted families the peace of mind they need to focus on their child's healing.
